Your pick on best type of houseboat for coastal waters.?

Your answers have helped a lot. Based on what you have suggested, I have picked the catamaran hull. 40' to 50'. Inboard power. The only problem is I can't find a used one that fits my needs. This will be a live-on houseboat docked in the Chesapeake Bay area. I would like to take day trips with it. I am a rookie boater. Any suggestions as far as what other type of boat I should look at? THANKS!!!!

for comfort, you want something to stand up in without hitting your head - below decks. decent head, shower, large tanks for water and sewage.

if speed is not an issue, I'd go for an converted trawler, old tug or like. 35 - 45 ft would do it, more and the handling may be an issue. simple diesel engine, decent galley, stove for winter etc.
course in boating, boat handling and navigation will also help - perhaps even before making a purchase.
