Does anyone know how we can get rid off a 35ft wooden fishing boat?
We bought it with the intention of restoring it, but have been told it needs re-nailed. It's a gorgeous shape and was built in the late 50's at a boatyard in northern England. We can't afford to work with it now and need it taken away the cheapest way possible. Please advise.

You have several options, such as listing with a yacht broker, as well as several free sites, or EBay. You might check to see if there are any local tech schools or youth organizations that might accept a donation, or attempt to give it away. The worst thing you might attempt is to insure it and then burn it, for that would be a crime with potential for penalties. Good luck

- Thanks. I'm going to take photos of it and put it on E-bay then try all the other things. x

Call the local sea scouts of america and donate it to them. They will repair it and sell it to raise money for the sea scouts

1) yachtbroker.com
2) Ask the local Fire Department or whatever you call the Coast Guard over there if they want use it for practice. I don't know about boats but in the US many people do this with structures that need to be demolished.

See if there is a boat yard that will take it , Or a marine college might take it as a practice project for the students. I know when I did my training we used several old boats to practice on.
Put an ad in the local paper or free paper, Chances are some one will take it.

Post it on www.freecycle.org, A website dedicated to recycling items and prevent unnecessary waste. They will be someone out there who will take it off your hands even if it is just for firewood.

There are on-line boat brokers that offer free listings. try them. We sold our narrowboat last year with great results from these sites.
Just search in the uk domains for them.
shame, if i had more time i would definately take it off you.

Put a free sign on it and I am sure someone will ask about it. Good luck!
